Attention, attention...new physical education grant available!  Have you heard? Pursuant to new legislation, Health and Wellness Through Comprehensive Quality Physical Education Instruction Pilot Program (C.R.S 22-99-101), there is a new competitive grant available. The intent of this grant is to address the barriers to implementing comprehensive quality physical education in schools across Colorado. Interested, but would like support in grant writing? If so, join this webinar as we provide tips and strategies for getting started and how to write a successful grant application.   

 

Webinar Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to identify helpful tips for quality grant writing.
2. Participants will be able to incorporate learned strategies into their grant application due December 1, 2019.
3. Participants will be able to ask questions and receive individualized support as requested.

The goal of this workshop is to educate physical educators on how the standards can be used to drive meaningful and purposeful instruction. Participants will learn the necessary tools to improve academic achievement through research-based instruction aligned to the revised 2020 Colorado State Physical Education Standards. Participants will have the opportunity to examine the revised physical education standards and learn about the rationale behind the recent changes. The PECAT (Physical Education Curriculum Analysis Tool) and Crosswalk Document resources will be shared. These resources can be utilized to evaluate if the curriculum being used is aligned with the revised 2020 standards and identify any gaps. Best Practices will be modeled in a variety of K-12 standards-based activities. Physical Educators will also explore their role in supporting the components of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child Framework
