Teaching with the Brain in Mind 4: The 12 Gifts of Mind, Brain and Education Science

Whitman and Kelleher, authors of “Neuroteach: Brain Science and the Future of Education,” identify 12 research-informed practices to enhance learning.  At this training information will be shared on how teachers can effectively educate students utilizing the 12 practices. Information will also be provided on how to train students to use brain-based research to enhance their learning. The importance of educators incorporating multiple learning modalities (visual, auditory, reading/writing and kinesthetic) during instruction will also be discussed.

Workshop Goals

  1. Identify the 12 research-informed practices that can be implemented into instruction to enhance student learning.

  2. Acquire action steps to inform students how to utilize research-informed practices.
