Recess: PLAY ON!
Recess is often viewed as a reward for good behavior and/or completion of academic work. Instead, recess needs to be regarded as an integral part of a student's daily educational experience that is necessary for optimal development of the whole child. Recess can enhance academic achievement, reduce discipline issues in the classroom and create a healthier school environment. Recess also provides an opportunity for social/emotional learning in a supervised setting. At this training supervisors will learn strategies to increase students' physical activity level, minimize behavioral issues and provide a positive recess experience.
